Gonzales Spartans faced the Marina Mariners for their Homecoming game on Friday night, Oct 6th. Varsity got their first win of the season and is now heading into a bye week with some momentum behind them.
Gonzales Spartans Football clashed with Santa Cruz Cardinals on Friday Sept 29. The Spartans jumped to the early lead but could not hang on as the Cardinals climbed back and took the lead. In a nailbiter of a game, the Spartans ran out of time and lost a close one for the second week in a row!
JV Spartans lost to Santa Cruz on Friday, 29th of September. JV played hard but the cardinals overwhelmed them 37-0.

JV Spartans hosted the Coalinga Tigers on Sept First. The game got pushed back 30 minutes to allow the temperature to drop from 110 to 95 degrees thanks to some much needed wind.
The game was all Tigers though, as they beat on the JV Squad 32 – 0
Gonzales Spartans Varsity Football team hosted the Coalinga Tigers on a balmy Friday Night, Sept 1st 2017. Both teams wore Orange and Black with the visitors in lights and the Spartans in Darks. It was a game with plenty of hard hits from both teams, but the Coalinga Horned Toads came away with the win.
