The GHS Spartan Varsity Football team squared off vs the Trojans of Alisal on Friday, Sept 30th to kick off their season. The Spartans drew a tough opponent in their first opponent in Alisal. The Trojans are known for their “bring your lunch and get to work” approach to football, and lived up to it.

The Spartans are also known for being lumberjacks and bringing the wood so the elements were their for a great game. The Spartans were down 14 – 0 at the half, with the game still within reach.

Alisal pulled away in the second half though, as the Spartans fell 12 – 38. The Spartans get a long weekend to heal and focus on the breakers of PG.
