Gonzales High School Varsity Football Spartans invaded the Santa Cruz Cardinals on Oct 26, 2019. The Cardinals dominated the first quarter, taking a 22 – 0 lead. The Spartans responded with some scores and went into the half time period down 13 – 30.

After the half, Spartan Grit and resulted in another score and it was a 10 point game going into the 4th, down 20 – 30.

Then the scoreboard went out, and no one really knew what the score was or how much time was left. When the game was over, the Cardinals had run away and built a 16 point lead, winning the game 26 – 42
